FindaProperty.com launched in 1997 and was bought out in 2004 by Associated Newspapers, which owns UK national newspaper titles the Daily Mail and The Mail On Sunday as well as the Evening Standard and Metro in London.
Homes Overseas was launched as a property search portal in September 2005 and was re-launched in January 2008 following a major re-design. Formerly owned by Blendon Communications, the site is now operated by Globespan Media, part of Trinity Mirror Group, since June 2007.
Propertyfinder is one of the UK’s oldest property portals, having started life in 1995. In November 2005 it was bought by News International (owners of The Times, Sunday Times, The Sun, timesonline.co.uk) and realestate.com.au, Australia’s largest property portal.
Propertyline was launched in early 2007 by Foreign Currencies Direct as a global site for overseas property buyers. It has a unique business model offering free listings to agents and developers in return for foreign currency referrals.
