South Africans look for dollar-based property investments
Mauritian property agent, Matkovich and Associates is reporting a surge in purchases from South African investors looking to take advantage of the strength of the Rand.

52% of sales in the La Balise Marina development in Mauritius have come from South Africans, many of whom are looking for dollar-based investments to lock in their currency gains.

Real Estate Web reports that the Mauritian property market has defied the global trend of declining property values due to the country’s continued economic growth and innovative Government polices that support the property market. "It can largely be attributed to the Mauritian government's progressive approach to encouraging foreign investment," says Hudson.
