OPP to lose editorial director

OPP to lose editorial director

Alex Evans, Group Editorial Director of Overseas Property Professional Magazine (OPP) is set to leave his position for a role outside the industry.

Evans joined OPP in October 2005 and has been the driving force behind the magazine’s editorial strategy for the past four and half years. He played a key role in launching OPP Live, the overseas property industry exhibition which is now co-hosted with the Property Investor Show.

Evans is a talented journalist and has been a great front man for OPP over the years. In my opinion, he is one of the good guys in our industry and he will be a tough act to follow.

Commenting on OPP’s future plans, CEO Xavier Wiggins said “We have been inundated with extremely high quality applications from several different countries which isn't surprising as the role is a big opportunity for the right candidate. We will not rush the appointment as this is strategically a big decision as we look to implement important changes and grow the OPP platform in some interesting directions over the coming months and years. Interviewing is ongoing”.

News of Evan’s departure follows the recent announcement that AIPP Chief Executive Paul Owen is leaving his post for a role outside the overseas property industry.

Alex Evans is known to me as a highly skilled professional which will be very hard to replace. I hope we will be able to hear, or better say read, from him in the near future and wish him lots of succes.
