New Zealand to introduce CGT
New Zealand is set to introduce capital gains tax with the announcement of a review to its tax system.

 New Zealand is one of the last remaining developed countries to not have a capital gains tax but this looks set to change after both the governing party and opposition indicate they support the tax.

Prices in New Zealand have risen for four straight months Finance Minister, Bill English has expressed concern that a new housing boom could be developing and the introduction of this tax could help to stop it.
