Fractional show aired on UK TV
A 30-minute television show explaining the benefits of owning fractional property aired on UK television for the first time this weekend on satellite and cable channels Travel Deals Direct (Sky 647) and the Travel Channel (Sky 251).
The show entitled “Timeshare – History in the Making”, a collaborative effort between TATOC, the Timeshare Association and Worldwide Leisure Group, explains all aspects of timeshare and is interspersed with footage of resorts on the Costa del Sol (Club La Costa, Marina del Sol), Cyprus (Paradise Kings Club) and Scotland (Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, Forest Hills). The broadcast also explains how exchange programmes work.
Although the show is focused narrowly on “traditional timeshare”, owning the right to use a property for the same week each year, it is a step in the right direction to help improve the image of the fractional industry which has been tarnished by the sharp selling practices of a minority of operators.
Fractional ownership has received considerable industry attention of late but sales have so far failed to
live up to expectations. Fractional ownership is not the panecea for poor product but programmes such as this will help to boost confidence which should feed through to sales. More positive media coverage is needed, especially from channels with larger distribution networks such as Channel 4.
The show is being repeated on the Travel Channel throughout November. You can also view the programme online

isn't the author of this article implying fractional ownership is indeed timeshare.
surely a better headline would have been 'Timeshare show aired on TV", which is factual
it doesn't help when journalists blur the difference between fractional ownership and timeshare - there is a difference!
