Cityscape Dubai predicts 30% drop in visitor numbers

Cityscape Dubai predicts 30% drop in visitor numbers
Arabian Business reports on a statement by Cityscape Dubai’s managing director that visitor numbers are expected to be down between 25-30 percent.

MD, Rohan Marwaha cites the global economic crisis as the main reason for the expected decline which has had a huge detrimental impact on real estate prices and construction activity in the emirate.

Despite the announcement Cityscape Dubai is sure to remain one of the world’s largest property exhibitions.  The organizers claim to have attracted over 30,000 visitors last year and the show eclipses SIMA, Europe’s largest exhibition by some distance. However, the recent announcement of a 15% increase in exhibition stand prices may be difficult justify given the forecasted decline in attendance.
