Arrest warrant issued for Caribbean agent
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the owner of a RE-MAX agency franchise in the US Virgin Islands.
Rosemary Sauter-Frett, the owner of RE/MAX Dream Properties is being hunted by local authorities on suspicion of fraud, after local agents complained that checks worth tens of thousands had bounced.
Former employees of Sauter-Frett also claim that between $1 million and $2 million that should be in Sauter-Frett’s escrow accounts are now missing.
The White Collar Crime Unit is investigating the case and Sauter-Frett’s office (pictured) has been sealed off by police pending further investigation.
The office was left abandoned a short-time ago which has led to speculation that Sauter-Frett and her husband have left the island owing her clients and business partners millions of dollars.

This seems an all too common story, Fuerteventura has just experienced a simalar case with a Remax Franchise.
You have to ask how many more cases are out there and is the preselection process for a Remax fanchisee strict enough?
In some cases the wrong people use the franchise route to gain instant credability., and I am afraid cases such as this unfairly taints the professional Remax brokers out there.
