Agent leaves retirement for one more shot at the big time
Simon Bennett, founder of overseas estate agency, Armarium Group has rejoined the industry in a bid to win Industry Poker Stars on Thursday 20th May.
Bennett, who earns between £4000 and £8000 a month as a semi-professional poker player, retired from the industry more than 12 months ago but has taken up a senior commercial position with overseas property portal, TheMoveChannel.com and will spearhead their attempt to win the tournament.
“Throwing down the gauntlet”
Dan Johnson, Managing Director of the TheMoveChannel.com is perhaps taking the charity event a little too seriously:
“With this announcement, we’re really throwing down the gauntlet to the industry at large. Other companies may be better funded, but we have the will and the skill to win – an almost unbeatable combination”.
Changes to team rules
Teams, which consist of three people, can now contain players from different companies, as long as everyone involved has some connection to international property. If you don’t have enough players from your company and client contacts, you will have the option of joining a team on the evening so you can compete for the team and charity prizes.
3 tickets for the price of 2 before 31st March
Tickets for event cost £100 and include entry to the competition, an evening meal and welcome drinks. Cash prizes are awarded to anyone making the final table and to the top two teams. The winning team decides the charity to which 10% of the evening’s ticket money is donated.
If Global edge win, we’ll be donating the money to St Christophers Hospice where my father-in-law passed away recently.
