A little history

Globaledge started life on 4th December 2007 as a marketing portal for the overseas property industry.  We launched with a database of independent property portal reviews and a library of articles on internet marketing.

Throughout 2008 we earned a reputation for providing informative and entertaining industry news and analysis.  The quality of our editorial content and the audience we attracted as a result, put us on the marketing plans of some high profile names including Real Estate TV, Pafilia, Primelocation.com and MoneyCorp.  Our financial success gave us a strong platform to invest in the site you see today.

During our editorial and sales conversations in early 2008, it became clear that there were problems other than online marketing that the industry was facing.  Most significantly, finding trustworthy and hard working business partners was particularly difficult for the industry.  So we spent over 9 months designing, testing and building a solution to try and address this issue.  What you see today is the result.

Globaledge is an ambitious project and it’s not perfect. Our aim is to consistently innovate and improve. The service will no doubt change as we incorporate new ideas and try and solve new problems.  If you have any ideas on how we can improve, please contact us.  We’d love to hear from you.

Who are we?


Globaledge was founded by Ashley Rigg in April 2007 shortly after he left his position as Online Publishing Director at Blendon Communications, the publishers of Homes Overseas and Show House Magazine.  Ashley is responsible for editorial and business strategy and relies heavily on his talented commercial and customer support team for the ongoing growth of the business. Ashley has over 10 years online marketing and management experience, four of which have been in real estate. He has a BA (Hons) in Economics from Newcastle University.

Peter Walshe heads up the commercial side of the business.  Peter is a qualified marketing professional with a strong sales background. He started his career as a sales negotiator at Foxtons, followed by Business Development Manager at the re-insurance giant Benfield Group, before becoming Commercial Manager for Blendon Communications.  Peter has a BA (Hons) in Geography from Exeter University.

Clara Laurenzi is Sales Executive and is responsible for developing new business from property development companies across the globe.  She speaks fluent Italian, Russian and English.

Cristina Alonso is responsible for customer service and affiliates.  Her role is to account manage existing clients and help our affiliate partners generate revenue.
